Why am I seeing this error?
When you download or update a game using ManifestDeX, Steam needs special manifest files to pull the game data from Steam's servers. If it can't find these files locally, it throws errors like NO INTERNET CONNECTION or UNKNOWN ERROR, or gets stuck on DOWNLOAD QUEUED.
Manifest File Servers Offline / Downtime
This issue most frequently happens when the **Manifest File servers are down** or having connection issues. When this happens, Steam is unable to fetch the manifest decryption data online.
To fix this, you can manually download the .manifest files from our website and put them in your Steam directory, or let the M^X Desktop App download and install them for you automatically.
Download the Manifests Zip
Go to the game's page on our website. Right next to the regular download options, look for the button that says Download Manifests (.zip). Download it along with your game's usual .lua script.
Extract the files to Steam's "depotcache" folder
Open the downloaded ZIP archive and extract all the .manifest files directly inside your Steam installation directory, in a folder named depotcache.
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\depotcachedepotcache folder inside your Steam folder, just create one manually and drop the files in.Restart Steam and try again
Once the manifest files are inside the depotcache folder, restart Steam completely (exit from the system tray first, then reopen it). Now try the download again, and it should run smoothly!
Note about Game Updates
If a game gets a new update and you start seeing the exact same errors (No Internet Connection, Queue loop) during the update process:
- If you use the Desktop App: Simply click "Update Lua" on the game's page again. This downloads the new manifests automatically.
- If you download manually: You'll need to download the updated
.luafile from our site (be sure to select the same depots), download the new .manifests zip file, and extract all the new files into yourdepotcachefolder.
